Ryan and the Boys

We spent Mardi Gras day relaxing along the lake, on the LSU campus. I tried to give my camera to Ryan to take a picture of me with the boys but it didn't come out that good.

State Wrestling Tournament...

I've been neglecting my blog lately...so most of ya'll know that Logen is the Division III, 130 lb. State Champion. He has been in every news paper from New Orleans to Baton Rouge and then Lafayette and probably more, those or the ones I have received confirmation from. He went into this competition un-seeded, and left the competition as the #1 spot in Louisiana. It is very rare for that to happen to a freshmen much less a freshman with a bad record. His coach said, " he had his Cinderella Moment."
Here are a few pics from that night. I wasn't able to get to many good shots...I was stuck in the stands.
Logen is the one in solid red singlet with red and white shoes....
Logen is the one on the bottom... with the fight in his eyes.

I don't think he had realized he had won at this moment, I think he thought that the ref. said that they had to go another round. He had told Logen to get back in the center for the hand raise and Logen took it as one more round. I asked him after about it because when we looked at the video he made a jester like oh no and that is what he said, he had misunderstund and didn't have the energy to go another round.

Once he came back into the stands he hugged Ryan and I and then up came his friend Cody. Those two have been wrestling together for 4 years now. Cody was two rows in front of use and he was fighting in the stands along with him. He was just as wore out as Logen once it was over. It was a great moment....

After State...

It was over and the boys were allowed to eat whatever junk they wanted. The bus detoured into a Shell Station in Laplace...it was the first exit that had junk food. Logen didn't do too bad, I think his bill was $15 or so... some boys spent more than $30 on junk.
Our boys were invited to ride in the Addis Mardi Gras Parade by the Brusly Fire Dept. Not many showed up because they were probably still sleeping. We got back from New Orleans around 1:30 am or so and they had to line-up for the parade at 9:30 am that same morning. This is a great accomplishment and these boys need to be recognized for all there hard work.

Potty Time

We did a little grocery shopping yesterday at Wal-mart and when I went to get some more diapers Cort saw a potty. We had been saying we were going to get one we just kinda put it off, after all he is the last one so we are trying to keep him a baby as long as possible. But he insisted he get one...so I did. When we got home I unloaded the grocery and put the potty on the snack bar. He ripped it open with the help from Braeden and took off his pants and diaper and sat on the potty. Then he played with the potty...needless to say he has not done his business in the potty yet but at least he wanted it and knew what it was for. Last night he sat on the potty for about 20 minutes while he watched TV...then got up and pottied on the side of it. I call that progress!

The End is NEAR....

We have been so busy lately with wrestling that I haven't had time to do much else. But that is about to change....We have City this weekend then it's "HELL WEEK" and then it's State. Here are a few photos I took this past weekend @ Comeaux.

Back to somekind of order.

School's back in session....
We needed some kind of order and structure. It's great for a little while but with 3 boys at home with nothing to do....it gets a little rowdy to say the least. Besides he likes doing homework.

In the 1st photo I played off of the light coming in from my bay window and the second picture I was in front of him with the light from the window on his right side.

Fixing the Fence

Our Fence
Well it is finally getting fixed.....My father-in-law offered to fix it for us and Ryan so willingly said yes.....not sure if he really wanted to or was just being nice but Ryan took him up on his offer. Seems like we are too busy @ night and on weekends to fix things.
So he came by today and while he was working I snapped a few photos.Mr. Dan fixing the fence
Cort playing in the water puddles
Mr. Dan taking a break and reading to Cort.

New Years Day!!!

Welcome to 2009....
Hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Day....
I heard that whatever you do for New Years Day you will do most of the year. I can believe it because it seems like all we do is eat on New Years Day and for those of you who know my family that is usually all we do all year long....We usually spend it with the Thibodeaux's at my moms. We always have seafood and chicken gumbo for the anti-seafood people. And every sweet you can think of from chess pie to pralines. However, things were a little different this year. I usually wake-up early so that I can help my mom and grandma get things ready. I'm talking 9-ish, but this year Ryan woke me up extremely early. They wanted to go duck and squirrel hunting so we had to be in Parks, La before day break or we would ruin there hunt. Whoop-tee-doo! So I dragged my self and the kids out of bed at 4:30 this morning. Which wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't stayed up waiting for Logen to come in from a bonfire last night at Dillan's. I went to bed sometime after 1 am. That's 3 1/2 hours of sleep. I hope that is not what I have to look forward to this year. I hope that saying is a myth.

Happy
New Year's Eve
2008.....

Wow....things can turn bad quickly....we were all having fun watching the kids pop fireworks and then Logen said dad look and the neighbors yard was on fire....Who needs fireworks when we could just start a fire.... The guys struggle a bit but managed to put out the fire...It could have been worse....
See ya'll in 2009.

Our fence was destroyed for the hurricane and then we fixed it. But the other day right before the snow we had a bad thunder storm and it knocked another branch off the neighbors tree right onto our fence.

Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning.....
For the last few years...I make a big breakfast and we sit back and watch the kids open there gifts from Santa. Usually my parents and grandparents come and a few times Ryan's Dad showed up. But, this year everyone had something to do or some place to go. My mom and grandma Borel went to church and then started preparing for the Borel get-together. And MawMaw Lucy went to Joey's for Christmas. And Mr. Dan(Ryan's dad) went to relatives in Pineville.
Cort just waking-up....He eventually got into the action.
The Tree....this tree was re-decorated many times over the past month.

Christmas Eve

Well, these are from Christmas Eve.....Every Christmas Eve for the past 6 or so years we spend it with the Domingues. He has an annual gathering and cooks a kickin' seafood gumbo.
