Well, Logen had his first wrestling meet the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. He won 2 and lost 2. It was at Brusly so Ryan and I didn't get to watch all of them but we were able to watch his last match and he pinned the guy from St. Michael's.

Jesus take the Wheel

I know that you don't turn 15 till Wednesday but I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday before we get caught up in the fact that you have your permit and you can drive now. I remember taking you to Sears to take this picture of you when you were 9 months old. It seems like yesterday. I can even remember you spitting up all over the outfit you were supposed to wear to take the pictures so we had to make do with this. Happy Birthday Son!

Prom

No it wasn't Logen's Prom but he was asked by a Junior, Nicole Kemp. I wasn't sure if I should let him at first but after much thought and speaking to other parents and a few teachers we allowed him to go. Everything went fine and he returned 5 minutes before curfew.

State Wrestling Tournament...

I've been neglecting my blog lately...so most of ya'll know that Logen is the Division III, 130 lb. State Champion. He has been in every news paper from New Orleans to Baton Rouge and then Lafayette and probably more, those or the ones I have received confirmation from. He went into this competition un-seeded, and left the competition as the #1 spot in Louisiana. It is very rare for that to happen to a freshmen much less a freshman with a bad record. His coach said, " he had his Cinderella Moment."
Here are a few pics from that night. I wasn't able to get to many good shots...I was stuck in the stands.
Logen is the one in solid red singlet with red and white shoes....
Logen is the one on the bottom... with the fight in his eyes.

I don't think he had realized he had won at this moment, I think he thought that the ref. said that they had to go another round. He had told Logen to get back in the center for the hand raise and Logen took it as one more round. I asked him after about it because when we looked at the video he made a jester like oh no and that is what he said, he had misunderstund and didn't have the energy to go another round.

Once he came back into the stands he hugged Ryan and I and then up came his friend Cody. Those two have been wrestling together for 4 years now. Cody was two rows in front of use and he was fighting in the stands along with him. He was just as wore out as Logen once it was over. It was a great moment....

After State...

It was over and the boys were allowed to eat whatever junk they wanted. The bus detoured into a Shell Station in Laplace...it was the first exit that had junk food. Logen didn't do too bad, I think his bill was $15 or so... some boys spent more than $30 on junk.
Our boys were invited to ride in the Addis Mardi Gras Parade by the Brusly Fire Dept. Not many showed up because they were probably still sleeping. We got back from New Orleans around 1:30 am or so and they had to line-up for the parade at 9:30 am that same morning. This is a great accomplishment and these boys need to be recognized for all there hard work.

The End is NEAR....

We have been so busy lately with wrestling that I haven't had time to do much else. But that is about to change....We have City this weekend then it's "HELL WEEK" and then it's State. Here are a few photos I took this past weekend @ Comeaux.
Logen is wrestling 130 on Varsity and 130 on JV...he started the season back in October after football ended weighing 152...

Christmas Eve

Well, these are from Christmas Eve.....Every Christmas Eve for the past 6 or so years we spend it with the Domingues. He has an annual gathering and cooks a kickin' seafood gumbo.

(aka the "COOK")
Relaxing after that BIG MEAL.....

Wouldn't you believe it he went back for seconds....Cort thanks God everyday for his Parrain.

And before we gather our things to make our annual visit with the Domingue's we open gifts with my parents.
My mom and dad purchased a TV for the boys.

Cort loves clothes...

Florida

Beast at the Beach
While we enjoyed the snow we were glad to see the beach. Logen competed in a varsity wrestling tournament in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. It was a nice getaway.
Logen didn't win any matches and he was a little down about it. But Brusly placed 4th in the tournament. Remember Logen is only a Freshman and he was competing against Seniors.
Brae didn't want to watch his brother he said he could see him wrestle anytime he went straight to the beach.

SNOW!
Hello everyone....it seems like I am always too BUSY to post.
Anyway we have been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to sit down and update my blog. So I'm going to catch you all up now.
It was December 11th and about 5 something in the morning and my cell phone started ringing. All I could think is someone had died. By the time I got to it the phone had stopped ringing but I glanced outside and saw something we don't see too often in South Louisiana.
SNOW!!!
I scrambled through the house and woke up the boys, Logen didn't believe me and went back to bed. Regretting it later on. But Brae had a blast in with this white stuff. We let Cort sleep in and woke him at day break.
At about 9 am Ryan made Logen get up and he was so upset with himself for not waking earlier.
The boys had sooo much fun....
(By the way no one had died, it was just my cousins wife letting us know it was snowing. Thanks Tasha.)
The "Dog" had more fun then the kids.
Brae making snow angels.

Cort wasn't sure if he wanted to go outside. He watched for about 30 minutes and then decided to go. He had a blast.

Logen finally woke-up and went play.

Cort.

My boys!

No gloves!
